When am I charged for my Layer3 TV subscription?

You will see a $79 hold on your credit/debit card when you sign up for service.  Depending on your financial institution, funds are usually available to you again within three days.  This is a hold, not a charge - similar to a hotel or car rental hold.  Your card will not actually be charged until activation.

Your first month's bill is charged on the day of activation.  This will be one of the following:

Pro-installation

  1. The date you activate your account online and start watching TV Everywhere before you get your equipment
  2. The date of your professional installation

Self-installation

  1. The date you activate your account online and start watching TV Everywhere before you get your equipment
  2. The date you install and start watching your Layer3 TV service
  3. Five days from the date you sign up*

*Please note: your equipment will automatically be activated five days from the date you sign up and you will be billed even if you haven't set it up.  If you have any trouble installing your equipment, please call or text our TV experts so we can help.

For example, if your installation was completed on March 4th, or if you completed your self-installation that day, you'd be billed that day (and on the 4th of every month thereafter). Layer3 TV bills in advance, which means that your bill covers the month of service following your payment – so your March 4th payment would cover your subscription through April 3rd, and you'd be billed again on April 4th.
