Google Assistant Commands Quick Reference

1. Talk to Google Assistant 

If you're using a Google Home device, you can say Hey Google, talk to Layer3 TV or Ok Google, talk to Layer3 TV.  If you're using the Google Assistant app, say Ok Google, talk to Layer3 TV.  See the Google Home or Google Assistant app documentation for specific instructions.

2. Ask Google Assistant to communicate with Layer3 TV

Google Assistant can understand commands spoken in various ways, so there is no need for you to memorize phrases. For example, if you want to ask Google Assistant to show the DVR screen, Google Assistant will respond to any of the following commands:

  • Take me to DVR
  • Navigate to DVR
  • What's on DVR
  • Tell Layer3 DVR

Watch Commands

  • Tune to ESPN
  • Go to channel 227
Tune to >   Name of Movie
Watch >   Name of Show
Switch to >   Name of Channel
Go to >   Channel (Number)

Turn On/Off TV

HDMI CEC on the TV and the Set-Top Box / Lite Box must be enabled for this feature to work.  See the user manual for your TV on how to enable this issue.

  • Turn TV on
